How does it work?

It couldn’t be easier! Just pick a genre from the menu, hit play, and let the music flow. Whether you’re on your phone, tablet, or computer, our player works like a charm on any device. Depending on your internet connection, it might take a few seconds to get going, but once it does, you’re in for a treat. Here’s the fun part: for now, Radio 163 lets you request songs from our archive of over 100,000 tracks! So if you’ve got a favorite tune in mind, why not give it a spin? Plus, our system automatically transcodes the stream to deliver the best possible sound quality, no matter what device you’re using. Quality and convenience in one smooth experience!

How do I access different channels?
Click on a genre in the menu to find exactly what you want to listen to. Once you’ve found the channel you want to listen to, just click play! We continuously add new channels, and the playlists are updated regularly.

Request a song

Right now, you can only request a song on the Radio 163 channel by clicking the “Request” button. This will load all the songs currently available in the archive, and you can search by artist name and/or song title. Depending on how many requests are ahead of yours, it may take a while before your song is played.

It's not working!

If everything seems to be working but you’re not hearing any sound, there could be a few simple fixes to try:

1. Check your volume settings: Make sure the volume on both your device and in the player is turned up, and that your device isn’t muted. Sometimes the obvious stuff gets overlooked!

2. Browser issues: Some browsers can cause sound issues. Try refreshing the page, or open the stream in a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Edge are good options). Clearing your browser’s cache can also help resolve playback glitches.

3. Device audio output: If you’re using external speakers or headphones, ensure they’re connected properly. Switching audio outputs (e.g., from Bluetooth to speakers) can sometimes cause a temporary sound loss.

4. Ad blockers or extensions: Some browser extensions or ad blockers might interfere with audio playback. Disable them temporarily and see if that resolves the issue.

5. Internet connection: Streaming relies on a stable internet connection. If your connection is slow or unstable, the stream may play but without sound or with choppy audio. Try pausing the stream for a few seconds to let it buffer or move closer to your Wi-Fi router.

If you’ve checked all of this and still have no sound, try restarting the stream or your device entirely. These quick fixes usually do the trick!
